Risk Assessment Training

All employers have a duty to ensure that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are in place in respect of all significant hazards to health & safety arising from the work activities. It is vital that staff responsible for conducting these assessments have the competence and confidence to carry them out.

CIEH Level 3 Award Risk Assessment-Principles & Practice.
This course is designed for anyone with a responsibility to conduct risk assessments and for managers, supervisors and any other personnel contributing to the risk assessment process.

The one-day course is followed by a written assignment, completed in the workplace. Successful completion earns the award of the certificate of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. This is now a nationally recognised Level 3 Vocationally Related Qualification, accredited by the QCA and endorsed by the Sector Skills Council

The written assignment involves the completion of a practical risk assessment in the workplace, and will demonstrate understanding of the purpose, benefits and legal basis for risk assessment. Approximately 13 hours will be required to complete the assignment.

We deliver the course on the client's premises to groups of 5-20 students at a cost of £550 + vat, to include the cost of administration and marking the assignments.

The CIEH charge £21.50 +vat per candidate for examination entry and certificate issue.  A detailed course handout is provided. The CIEH coursebook is optional.

In addition to the CIEH course described above, we also offer training specifically for Manual Handling Assessors and for COSHH Assessors. These courses are of 5 hours duration, click on the links for further details.
