Manual Handling Assessor Training

Designed for all who may be required to conduct manual handling assessments, especially managers and supervisors, the course provides step-by-step guidance on identifying risks, controlling them, and completing the requisite records to comply with the law. It is especially useful in helping to clarify whether a formal assessment is required.

Typical course outline - normal duration 5 hours*

 Introduction (30 mins)

•                  What is Manual Handling?
•                  Why is it important? Leading cause of workplace injuries
•                   Immediate & long-term harm - the scale of the problem

Types of injury (20 mins)

•                  How the back works, how it is harmed
•                  Other common injuries

•                 Risk factors of the TASK - LOAD - ENVIRONMENT- INDIVIDUAL 

 Manual Handling Assessments (40 mins)

 Lunch Break 30 mins

* The duration of the course may be varied depending  upon the experience of the participants,  the nature of their work, and the systems already in place.

To deliver this training to a group of up to 15 staff on your premises, the cost is £380 + vat for the group, inclusive of course handouts and certificates of training. Depending on the location, a travel charge may apply
